Maike Brautmeier

A visual artist and photographer whose practice operates at the intersection of photography, mixed arts, video, and printmaking techniques, with an experimental and interdisciplinary approach. She studied art with a focus on photography at AKI Enschede, including an Erasmus period in Valencia, and has been an active member of a women’s photography collective since 2007, developing ongoing collaborative projects. Since 2010 she has worked on exhibitions and theme based projects with other women photographers, and from 2018 expanded her training within the field of documentary film. Since 2019 she has collaborated on projects combining photography with analogue image processing through painting. Alongside her artistic practice, she engages in curatorial work and cultural mediation, initiating exhibitions and collaborative projects with artists from diverse disciplines. Her work has been shown nationally and internationally.
